This is a case where there are some players who are accused of raping a woman. It happened that these hockey players had gone to another country and when they were partying, a woman came. They happened to be some three friend and teammates and therefore they went to their room. The woman is said to have been drunk and she followed them to their room. She is said to have agreed on having a sexual relationship with the three of them. In the hotel that these players where staying, there was no reported case of violence and therefore it can be argued that she consented to what they did. Later on, this woman accused the three players of raping her.  (Jahan, 2005)

On this, the police just arrested the player even before the game. They made a mistake in that they did not enquire from the hotel of the incident that had taken place earlier. They just accused the person and they took on them that they had raped the woman. This was a very negative publicity for the club which made the club manager to fire the player after they were deported before the games were over. After investigation, the case had to be withdrawn as there lacked enough evidence to link the players with the incident. However, irrespective of this negative publicity that had been caused by the government, the players never received anything in return they had their name defamed and their terminated their career. This is out of the mistakes that the government of Germany. This was a very big blow to the fans of the team and the entire sporting community in the area.  (Jahan, 2005)

The government made an error in that it went public even before it looked into the matter and accused the players of rape. They would have first privately investigated the case and if they find that it is true, that is the time they would have come public. By coming public first before they get the truth was a serious blow to the player, to the fans, the country and to the team as a whole.

If I was in the authority, I would have directed or rather ordered some investigation to be done on the players by police department. I would have informed the team officials of the allegations that had been made on the players but I would ask them to take no step until the investigations are over. I would ask them that we should keep this private or rather keep a low profile of the situation and wait until we have the evidence in our hands. This is the only way that we would act on this issue and break the news to the public. It is only after this that we should take stern measures on these players. If they are not guilty, I would end there and let the player go on with their sports.
