Since the advent of human he has always tried to get hold of other people.That gave him a taste of power and earn respect.That has resulted in many warfares killing billions of innocent humans.Now at the rise of a new world age we are still facing the the same but with a new name terrorism.The most pathetic attack of Sept 11 has changed a lot in the US as well as other countries.All the world is on high alert.But still the terrorism curbs in every possible corner in the whole world.
Now the terrorists seldom hold hostages and are focussing on weapons of mass destruction to curb fear into the governments.Although they have a knack of influencing the governments from the inside they still do mostly resort to killing people for reminding of their strong power.They are now therefore resorting to WMD (weapons of mass destruction).The WMD include biological,chemical and nuclear weapons.And it is for the same reason the terrorists are training their soldiers as it requires a lot of technical skills to work with the so called WMD.The terrorists focus on WMD because of several reasons some of them are

1 Exploitability of the wide fear caused by WMD.
2 It allows the terrorists to be in a safe position to negotiate
3 A small amount of WMD can bring doing a big city and bring the world attention to the terrorist group.

The most possible WMD like to be used is the biological ones. Because biological weapons are easier to hide.Can be initiated at any place, it gives a security of auto initiation at certain geographical features.Bio engineered strains of viruses hardly have an antidote e.g Anthrax. Also They amount required can be as low that can be contained in a simple pen or a cigarette.Also the biological viruses can affect the agricultural system if not anything e.g crops and farm animals.That way the economic backbone of any country can be broken down, as well as killing a large number people due to hunger and diseases.

Only the medical facility of our country can help us fight the biological attacks against critcal infrastructures but not effectively because it requires a lot of research to make an antidote of any kind of biological strain.

Again the recent trends in global technologies has weakened our country to a lot of extent as the terrorists too get equal access to the technologies and can use it to hide the WMD. These global technologies make the terrorists a lot more sophisticated and harder to detect owing to use of gadgets and the free use of web. Although internet has supposedly nominated for Nobel Prize but its like the cosmos. And its extremely difficult to trace out terrorists in the cyberspace as they can hack into systems and steal anything they want from any country using viruses,worms and codes.A single attack on any country through cyberspace can render is weak and poor by robbing it of its intellectual property.

The catastrophic magnitude of a terrorist attack be it using cyberspace or WMD cant be even imagined.We can only assume the situations we would have to tackle with when it happens.But in one word it would be Devastating.

To summarize it up we being the innocent citizens should always strive to make better amendments for the country and be ready to face the weapons of mass destruction by spreading awareness and education people about the possibilities of the attacks and enhance the intelligence of our investigative organizations.
